Weapon Damage by Size

Weapon size changes should not be confused with Natural attack size changes. Much of the information on this chart is drawn from pages 142-144 of the Core Rulebook, some of it has been extrapolated for game use. These rules are effective for weapons only (and monk’s unarmed strikes, which are not technically “natural” attacks), whether because of spells like enlarge person, gravity bow, and lead blades, or because a character chooses to wield an oversized weapon. (Natural attack changes are different and are located in the Bestiary, pg. 302.)

When reading the chart, observe this principle: Always start from the weapons medium size damage and then use the rest of the information in the columns to locate your new size and damage. For instance, because a heavy mace does 1d8 (the same as the longsword) follow the same row on the chart where the longsword is listed. Do not just choose a random d8 on the chart and look at what it increases to be at the next size up or down, use the proper chart row for your weapon.
