Campaign of the Month: September 2012
A Manifestation of Chaos
The Skull Synod
The Skull Synod has begun to organize resistance to lawful authorities. Preaching a dogma of spite and cynicism and vaunting their love of conflict, the group generally ministers the message of Iuz, but they view themselves as a materially independent organization that looks to the Empire of Iuz for inspiration, not headship. They have begun recruiting soldiers, and they are beginning to make connections in the evil communities far outside of the sphere of good powers, deep below the surface. They have connections in Pax Draconis and elsewhere, and they have nothing but spite for petty traditions such as honor and nobility.
This evil organization seeks to foist the mentality of social failure as a means of denying the legitimacy of powers. This is their neo-Iuzism. Every minor failure of government and society is seen as an excuse to destroy order, wherever it exists, but especially among the good. The premise of socially deconstructed failure is used to justify the arrogant approach to society, and it is often charming to betrayed vigilantes or miserable men who have nothing better to do than blame hard-working individuals for making them feel bad. This group even sees the undead as viable companions, and they will happily make use of all tools at their disposal. There may be quite a few anti-paladins among them. Although they do not possess the lust for power of Iuz, they honor the effects of this lust, such as the destruction of (perhaps) antiquated but nonetheless impressive traditions and states.
