Player Reward Points

Player Reward Points

Player Reward Points – Alpha Test:

In the past I have basically awarded bonus experience points for those players who put in the extra effort to help make our game better. At the lower levels this works really well as there is an appreciable benefit, however as players rise in level, two problems in the current methodology become very noticeable: First, due to the increased amount of experience points needed to level; the tangibility of the bonus experience points given becomes less noticeable, this invariably leads to a respite in striving to go above and beyond because the work to reward ratio is not present. Second, those who do go far above and beyond as to ensure an appreciable work to reward ratio often leave those players who are unwilling or unable to contribute as much far behind, creating a large discrepancy in character level / power, which ultimately affects the game as a whole.

In order to provide more tangible rewards to the players who put in extra effort as well as entice the players who are holding steady; I have developed this reward system. The goal of this system is to provide tangible and attainable rewards for all of the players without breaking game balance.

This system is intended to replace the way we currently handle a couple things, in particular the special options for players, as well as incoming character level, tap backs and a few others.

*A player may not have more than 85 PRP’s at any given time, A player is allowed to bank certain options – please see Player Reward Bank

So this of course prompts two questions: How can I earn me some of those points? and What can I get for my points?

Here are the answers:
