Campaign of the Month: September 2012
A Manifestation of Chaos
ABOUT THE GROUP:
This campaign was founded in Feb 2011, although we did not join the Obsidian Portal until June of 2011. We are a mature group of friends who come together on most Sundays to save Oerth from all that threatens it. I have gamed with several members of this group for nearly a decade and our newest member for just under two months. Even though we are all busy adults with families and careers, every member contributes to make this game/group the best it can be.

Nice new video!
Great pics of your minis! Some seriously bad-ass figures and setups! Very impressive!
Love the attitudes and the occurrences, even after this time…. Aegon telling a 20th level person that he is not worthy, Will stepping down and having the skull’s mouth crash upon him… great work, as always….
100 fans WOW !!! Congratulation Leonidas !
Thanks Twiggs
Great new video! Them ancient foes are MIGHTY indeed!
Thanks Vlorn19 – I am lucky to have a group that constantly makes me strive to up the content as well as a few members who will actively help create the content.
Thanks Twiggs – the pictures are a quality is a little off but the company that makes the 3-d dungeon terrain is called Dwarven Forge. There stuff sets the gold standard in terrain pieces lately I have been running into fantastic deals on it and have acquired about 30 sets over the last year.
Wow! I am amazed by the sheer amount of content here. Well done!
Wow! I love that physical mapping out of the dungeon on 30 Jan 2013. I wish we had the time and resources for such things. However, our vinyl grid mat actually serves quite well. But it is still nice to see a whole dungeon laid out, walls and all! Yummee!
I look forward to you putting the player hat back on as well. Muhahahaha….
Thanks Twiggs :) It was a graft of an adventure I had written for another group and another campaign a few years ago, but never got to run. The last part of the adventure was wrapped up on Sunday. The guys did great and almost worked through every challenge exactly as they should have. I look forward to putting my player hat back on :)
Session 59: “No…Not the Children!”
Wow! Epic session! Looks like it was run by Maelstrom808. That must have been a heavy time, judging the written descriptions and excellent pics of MINIs on the Battlefield!
Well done Brightwing, Blaine, Kaden, Draghkar, Tain and Gilnaeus!

I have run numerous playtests with the advanced race guide and these mirror similar simulations that I ran when the Savage Species came out. It speaks to your credit that you have allowed the Gnoll and Minotaur to your races. Some of the best potential exists to maximize builds with these two races. Many people under-value them based on Krynn or other bastardizations. Consider the flavor and awe of a mighty minotaur smashing with a Greataxe (Buffed) and few others except for the Druid or Magus can defeat him one on one. Certain Minotaur barbarian builds can even counter pesky arcane types. Keep and eye out for my upcoming class guides. You will be able to stump your GM by following my number-crunched creations. Cheers!
Hey guys,
apologies for the late reply. Sept/October are my busiest time of year at work and I have been sick the last two weeks on top of that.
Thanks for the kind words and Phil’s we got to get your Dark Sun Campaign the reconition it deserves.
I know I’m late, but congratulation for your CotM!!!
A very well deserved CotM and one I have been waiting for some months to see realised! Well done, chaps!
I love this site and am happy to see you guys chosen for CotM. It is well deserved. Keep up the good work as we will be watching. 8P
Congratulations on Session 51, Gilnaeus, Kolev, Entil-Zha, Dvorki, Gyffry, Omen II, Caldin and Gorruk! Treasure chests, gas traps (watch those fingers, Kolev!), Resilient Spheres, upside-down burning celestials and a halfling-sized gem (My Gosh, that’s a big one!). As if this isn’t enough, you then have to deal with animated statues firing Magic Missiles and have your own Magic Missiles malfunctioning. Good job for Dvorkin’s Flame Strike and those scrolls of Greater Teleport always come in handy. The drinks are on ME in Greyhawk tonight!
Got to agree with Devon Alegaunt about THE LAIR! I have ONCE had the pleasure of being able to play in so dedicated a room.
Thanks everyone for the kind words.
@ Twiggs – The Deities list will pale in comparison to the next project asuming we are able to pull it off (I don’t want to jinx it)
@ Killer vp – Thanks I definitely appreciate all of the suggestions and pointers. I still learn something new everytime I go to your page.
@ Devon_Alegaunt – if you are ever in the St. Louis area send me a message and you can see “The Lair” in person. It is awesome everyday but moving day.
@ Lord Ao – Thanks
w0ot w0ot! Congrats on CoTM! You guys definitly deserve it with all the hard work, time and energy put in!
Congrats on the CotM; “The Lair” looks simply awesome; I would commit to all sorts of mischievous behaviour and other shenanigans to game in such a place ;-)
Remember, remember the winds of September. “The wind that crosses this plane is a wind of change. Heaven sent. And Hell bent.” (Congratulations on CotM)

Congrats on the very well deserved COTM!!
As for Deities: Well, it always WAS a killer list. Now expanded beyond belief. What a massive tome! Hey, how come Elves get more deities than bugbears? (LOL!)
Good work!

Very cool acknowledgments page – and thanks for the commendation!

Thanks for the spotlight link! We at LotR really appreciate it. Your campaign is incredible and best of luck.

Legacy of the Realms
Thanks Twiggs and Lord Ao,
BTW – “when McGregor bought it when you were Dming” – I Still protest that as an invalid death as I was not running the character when it occured. But Mcgregor’s are like bad pennies, they always show up.
I enjoyed reading about the players in Character Sheet form. A nice touch, that!

@ the graveyard: it only represents the joking and ribbing that already happens at the table. It is a good laugh.
Too bad it wasn’t around when McGregor bought it when you were Dming.
The graveyard is cracking me up. i might have to steal that idea.
Loving the new banner!
Thanks – Ao, but the credit on the banner rightly goes to maelstrom8o8, although I really liked the one you sent, it definetly had influence.
Was going to say that you’re doing great with the tab editing and I like the new Banner!
Killer VP – Construction will hopefully be going ahead in the next couple months – As far as nominating for COTM – it would be a huge honor to join esteemed Campaigns such as yours, Twigs and Stephen’s and many others. I think we have the content to be in that conversation however I think we are still a ways off in some areas such as character consistancy, navagation and visuals. We are going to plugging away and in truth it would be an honor just to be nominated.
Twigs – Glad you liked the dungeon crawl effect. It was fun to plan those sessions and to DM as the players moved through the ‘lair’. Suspense and pregnant pauses can be useful tools in the DM asenal and sometimes the hardest to be disciplined to maintain.
I also always enjoy the connect/disconnect between the PCs as heroes and townsfolk in their day to day lives.
I am already preparing the next group of sessions for when Leonidas is done with this next stint of DMing.
Hi Leo and party,
I just read through Session 38 Expanded and thought: “What a good ol’ dungeon crawl!” Moving statue eyes, pressure plates, Blasts of Fire, Failed Knock spells, The Mighty Moltantaticous, teleporting bodies, magic mirrors, arguing with townsfolk, and then (like sweets after a feast) a whole bunch of frost giants and wyverns to slay – EXCELLENT STUFF!

When does the construction end, and the nominating for COTM begin?
Some of my favorite gaming of all time was in the realms of greyhawk…still have the original boxed set and a bunch of the original modules…slavers, giants, barrier peaks etc. Definitely going to look around to adventure in Oerth again.
Thanks Twigs – If you get a chance please check out our verbal spell component page
Wow! That is a MASSIVE deities list. And brilliantly laid out!
twigs
Great campaign :) really like the page.
If you get time please check out our Earthdawn page, were just setting it up so it’s not much at the moment but defiantly look forward to using the site more :)
The Circle of Light
Awesome alignment chart!!
Great job on the site! I like what you guys have done with it!
Now I can follow up on the story.
<3
Dawn
Great campaign with a wonderful Wiki. Cant believe I only discovered you guys today.
always liked the birthright chart
Awesome site bro, I see you revamped some of this from your time here in iowa, makes me wish i was down in STL to play.
Thanks for the praise, I have a pretty awesome group who consistently challenge me and contribute to uping our game. Please feel free to use anything you think you can from our site, thank-you for asking; sharing with our fellow gamers is one of the reasons we keep our site open to the public.
hope you are able to get your game off the ground
Wow!! you guys have alot of cool ideas and some awesome stuff here. Your fluff as well as the timeline and forums are really sweet!! If I get my game running I’d love to use some of this.
Thank-you, for the praise. Look back in a couple weeks and I hope to have the most complete listing of Greyhawk Deities (Human and Non-human) Updated to Pathfinder including sub-domains. it will be about 350 Deities in all.
Wow i cant believe im the first one to favorite this! you have some great stuff here i look forward to reading further into your content =] keep up the good work!
